Join me at the 10th Annual Craft Show in Logan, OH

J

At my first event this year, the Hocking Hills Book Fair in March, a gentleman invited me to participate as a vendor at the 10th Annual Craft Show in Logan, Ohio. My decision to accept that invitation was more along the lines of whimy: “Why not? It can’t hurt.” After all, I had the weekend free, the registration fee was easily afforded, and the folks in southwestern Ohio seem to genuinely appreciate meeting authors. Folks in southwestern Ohio are friendly people; it’s always a joy to meet them.

So, I’ll begin my Saturday at 5 a.m., leave the house by 6 a.m., and arrive at the Hocking Hills Retreat Center before 9 a.m. (when the show opens). The event will be held indoors, which is fortunate, since we’re expecting inclement weather. The event ends at 3 p.m., so I won’t have to drive home in the dark. (Driving at night during thunderstorms isn’t particularly pleasant.) As usual, I’ll be attending with my best friend, artist Cindra Phillips. We’ve got booth set-up down to a science, so getting everything on dislay shouldn’t take long.

On “my” table will be copies of:

  • The Bounty: Gerlaugh – Hot off the press, this is the second book in the series. I finally have copies to sell! Yippee! ($10)
  • The Bounty: Jones – This is the series starter. ($10)
  • FOCUS – This is my best-selling book at events. If you like romantic suspense (or romance with a bit of mystery), then you’ll enjoy this one! ($11)
  • Double Cut – This is the second book in the Triune Alliance Brides series. If you enjoy steamy menage with an actual story, you’ll like this science fiction romance. ($10)
  • Single Stroke – This is the third book in the Triune Alliance Brides series. Two minor characters from the second book get their own story (and happily ever after). ($10)
  • Champion of the Twin Moons – This is the fifth book in my Twin Moons Saga. Unlike the previous books in the series, this one is heavy on the fantasy and light on the romance. ($15)

As usual, the other table will be loaded with original paintings. I’ve not done much painting in the last several months, so I’ve not been restocking our supply of artwork. That means most of the paintings are Cindra’s. She’s quite the eclectic artist and wonderfully talented. Our paintings range in size from 8×10 inches to 16×20 inches and are priced to sell.

With over 40 vendors, the Spring Craft Show will have something you’ll like for yourself or as a gift for someone else. Remember, Mother’s Day is next month. Start shopping now!

Proceeds from the Spring Craft Show benefit the Kalkosch Scholarship.

In other news:

My son is getting married in June. I’ve purchased my mother-of-the-groom dress. That’s a story in itself, as there aren’t many places where I live that sell suitable wedding attire, especially for “full-figured” women like me. So, I ordered four dresses. When they were delivered, I tried them on and returned one of them. One of the dresses isn’t appropriate for a wedding, but it’s a comfy summer dress. One of the dresses was a clearance item, so it can’t be returned. The third dress was my favorite of the occasion-appropriate options. And the fourth? I liked the style, but the color did not look good on me. The only alternate colors were black and white, neither of them appropriate.

My latest work-in-progress is actually seeing real progress. Last week, I cracked the 75,000 word mark. I anticipate this manuscript will conclude at around 90,000 words, a respectable length for “romantasy.” This book, which I hope to publish yet this summer, is the sixth and final book in the Twin Moons Saga. In this book, two minor characters get their own story: Marog, the disgraced crown prince of the Unseelie Court introduced in the first book of the series and who is not dead, returns to the fae realm with Iselde, daughter of the oracle and the Ice Queen of the northern wastes. They get their happily ever after, but it doesn’t come easily. As I’m a big believer in redemption arcs, Marog’s life trajectory fits perfectly into this theme.

Look for Light of the Twin Moons before September 1.
